Debriefing for the usability test

Serves two purposes

  • Informal opportunity to learn what happened and why
  • Answers questions the participant may have

Ideas for running the debriefing

  • May be informal and unscripted (why?)
  • The test monitor moderates
  • May want to remind the participant of certain points in the interaction by referring back to parts of the interface
  • Working out solutions may be distracting and unnecessary
