Usability testing goals
The principal goal of a usability test is to identify usability problems. Other goals include:
- To gain information about the product
- To make recommendations for modifying or adopting the product
- To find out how satisfying the product is to users
- Establish benchmarks for future comparisons
In any case, the results of a usability test are not meant to be generalized beyond the product. In other words, usability tests are not controlled experiments.
