Assignment 8
Creating a Web Site
Submit before 11:30 PM Monday November 14

Overview

For this project, you will construct a simple Web site. It should provide visitors information on a topic of your choosing. An example topic might be a hobby, tips for new students, a guide to products (e.g. computers, video games, cell phones), local stores (e.g. clothes, shoes, music), restaurants (e.g. pizza, ethnic), or anything for which you would have an interested audience. Keep in mind that your final site should have roughly 5 to 10 pages. The content of the site must be your original work and not copied from other media. The site should include your quiz from last week and may incorporate work from your previous assignments.

Requirements

  • The main page should consist of links to at least four additional pages. One of these pages may be your quiz.
  • Reference an external style file in order to keep a consistent look throughout your website.
  • In addition to your quiz, use some advanced CSS or javascript to improve the presentation of your pages. Consider the use of rollovers for menu items.
  • Your CSS file should be stored in a separate folder called styles and any images should be stored in a separate folder called images. We will discuss how to create relative references to them in class.
  • Have at least one person review your web site and take your quiz. Revise your website based on your observations of this review. Your grade will partially depend on how easily people can navigate and use your website.

Deliverables
