Report for Milestone 2
Due Friday May 23
Requirements
Submission for the second milestone is an updated report of the project. It contains many of the same items required in the first milestone. Of course, it should summarize and document additional work, which will typically include design work that is appropriate for the project (e.g. wireframes, process flow, instructional materials).
For contents, the report should have the following information:
- A summary of the project's goals
- A summary of the milestone goals as stated on the last report
- A presentation of current progress and how it compares to the goals from the last report
- If necessary, a revised schedule for completing the capstone project
- References to completed work that document progress with the project
- Experience summary (individual work)
The experience summary is new for this milestone. It should present an insightful experience from your project that would have value to other people in the class.
When writing the summary, you may want to address one of the following:
- A surprising result from any of your methods
- A challenge and how you addressed it
- What you would do differently next time
- Whether a method provided useful results and why
The experience summary does not need to be long. Two paragraphs may be sufficient. The goal is to communicate a useful insight with some convincing support based on your experience. This experience may become the basis of your final presentation and reflective report.
As with the last milestone, the report has no required format. However, the report should be organized so that the required information can be easily found and assessed. Typically the main body of the report can be two to three pages (including the experience summary), although it may be supplemented with additional materials.
Instructions for team projets. Each individual should write their own experience summary. The rest of the milestone may be a shared effort among team members. To facilitate review, each individual should submit a complete report containing shared elements plus the individual experience summary.
Submission
The design document should use a common presentation format, ideally PDF. Submit the file using the D2L online submission site.
Grading
This milestone is worth 20 points. It will be initially reviewed by other students in the class. A rubric for the milestone report available with the D2L dropbox.
